I've measured my shaft and it seems that I have the longer shaft, but I was under the impression that, if your drive had the longer shaft, it would be drilled out to receive the cone bolt.
I was further under the impression that the bolt hole (in the end of the shaft)was threaded to receive the bolt threads.
My shaft has a hole, but it seems to be tapered and doesn't look like it's threaded (could look again - outside with a flashlight when I checked - and I'm past 40 so I've lost my "night vision").
Am I missing something here? Isn't the hole in the shaft suppose to be threaded?
My drive is a swapped 280 I bought a few years back, so I wondered if someone had started drilling it for this purpose and maybe gave up.
Thanks to any replies!
