Decided to post this again with a new title. I'm looking at a '72 X-18. Hull looks good and solid, engine is fresh, needs a a sanding and compounding. But the gel coat looks to be peeling or delamination on the deck, right in front of the cockpit on both sides of the stripe. Check out the photo in my previous post. Any advise would be welcome. Is this a major repair? Can you repair and still keep the original stripe or is a repaint the only option?
