I might be buying a 1998 22 classic with the Mercrusier 7.4L V8 the boat is a freshwater boat and has been maintained very well. I was wondering if this is good year for quality all around and is the engine have good track record for realibilty. Is they any other concerns i should consider before buying.
Thanks Nemerica

I have a '98 and there are no quality issues / concerns at all. The 7.4L should be bullet-proof.

The order of power preference for that year would be: 7.4L, 454 MAG, and 502 MAG. Consider this in price negotiations.

If you put it back in fresh water it should run years/decades with little trouble. Have fun.

The 7.4 is 454 ci. Good strong motor if you leave them stock or keep mods to a minimum.

if all is right with the boat, that sounds like a very good price.

I wish it were higher to pump up the value of my '98 22 C :shades:

The value in dollars is only relevant if you plan on selling. Boats become members of my family. ;)
