Just bought a 2005 22 classic 496 HO from Frank C. (Shanghied Again) on this board, give him a call he might be able to help you out. He does not have any in stock but would be able to order you one and is a great guy to deal with. Only had boat out once for a sea trail boat ran real strong with that motor IMO do not get any other motor in a 22 classic other than the 496 HO

www.typhoonperformancemarine.com they are located in Toms River, NJ Good Luck :biggrin.:

:smash: I would think the $44 to 48 range is a good price for a loaded Ride with a 496HO... I have heard and seen fantasy prices by dealers in the $50's and unless there are special circumstances...such as an inoperable Brain Tumor by the Buyer!

I would think one could be had in that range. Most are in fact listed at the Mid $50's...even the Atlantic City Show boat had a Mid $50K Tag...

But I know the Buyer and he did not pay that....sooooo when ya see a previously owned 22 Classic and the Owner is asking $40K and its got a little mileage...kinda makes ya wonder just what kinda Market they be Shopping in ya know what I'm Talking 'Bout?

The Trailer should be included in that Price of the $44 to $48 Range.... sorta like offering a Car with Out Tires... but in some cases...they may Tack $2 to $3 Large onto the Tag to gain even more Profit on a Trailer that they paid in the High Teens or Low $2000 range for ..FYI.

Good Luck Tonto

Bulldog, the navy blue 22 you got a price on of $50,000 is a good price with the eagle trailer I would jump on that boat if I were you, as for myself my boat has red hullsides and is loaded with all options, I decided to order a custom MYCO steel trailer for the boat which is not your average priced trailer if ya know what I mean. :biggrin.:

The navy boat you got a price on is it from the Donzi dealer in Ohio Just curious!! :propeller

Good Luck I am a newbie in the 22 classic field but have owned two donzis prior to this one so if ya have any questions email or give me a call on my cell if ya like 484-614-7311.

JohnW on this board bought his 2005 22 classic from that dealer shoot him a email he was VERY pleased with them. To fit the 22 in a garage you will need 31-35 ft length, I wanted to put mine in my garage but only have 28ft, so I just purchased a nice sunbrella full cover and am keeping the boat outside. My deal with typhoon marine is a little different my boat they had in stock, but I would jump on the 50,000 boat and if ya want over them 48,000 and see what happens they can only say NO!! The red one in florida might not be bad a well make sure you a comparing apples to apples as far as options go. Good luck!!

Don't forget about delivery costs. Any boat outside of Florida will have a higher price tag due to delivery. Delivery costs are really starting to add up as fuel costs increase.

Don't forget about Special Edition boats. X-22 and Aronow boats will tack on several grand more over a standard 22. An all red boat may be a leftover Aronow boat.

Options can add up quick. Stripped down bare bones 22's can be cheap but the price can jump with options. Quick & Quiet Plus alone has a suggested retail of $1700.

The 2006 model year is basically here. Any new orders now will be a 2006 with 2006 pricing, which won't come til later this summer. The best deals will be on leftover 2005's and even 2004's.

What About An 18 Huge Diff?

RickSE
07-01-2005, 11:04 AM
Suggested Retail difference is about $18K. This is a full retail comparison between a no options 18C w/350MAG & a no options 22C w/496MAGHO.

There are other motor options for both boats so this number could easially go up or down. Again this is full retail so the diff. you'd see at most dealers may be a little less, but you never know.

Most of the option prices are the same, 18C or 22C.

Dual batteries-same
Depthfinder-same
hour meter-same
Stereo-same
Colored Hull sides-same
Solid color upholstery-same
Int Hyd. steering-same
fire supp.- same
Quick & Quiet- 22C $375-$425 more retail depending on Q&QII or Q&Q Plus

22C comes standard with trim tabs, 18C tabs are an option, approx. $850 retail.
22C comes standard with windscreen, 18C windscreen is an option, approx. $600 retail.

I would jump on a 2005 with 496 HO for 44K. As far as ordering one. Too late to order an 2005. If you want an 05 you'll probably need to choose from what dealers have sitting on the lot. If you ordered right now it would be a 2006. I ordered my boat in May of 04 and took delivery on July 3rd of 2004. It came off the line as the first 2005. So if you follow about the same timeframes anything ordered now would be a 2006. 44 is a good price with a HO boat with no options. Thats how I wanted mine. I didn't need a stereo, depth finder, captains call... I couldn't be happier with my boat. Good luck!

I assume this is the all red 22 at Aqua Toy Store. This may be the #1 Aronow from the dealer show. $44K is a good price.

Aqua Toy Store Red 22 (http://www.aquatoystore.com/gallery/viewlisting.php?list_id=305&stock=red%20aronow&view=New%20Boats&sort=Make)

Is it obvious that I'm bored at work today? Oh well it is Friday.

Bulldog, does the blue 22 in Ohio priced at $50,000, including trailer, also include shipping costs to the dealer from the factory in Florida, as well as dealer prep? If so, real good price.

Thanks

Was in Ohio and looked at the blue 22 496 H.O. and "the X drive had been stolen" off of the boat. They had a drive put back on but it was a 2004 x and not like the 2005 version. They were going to have it swapped again to get a 2005 x drive back on the boat. Kinda sick feeling to have it violated. I showed up this past Saturday to pick it up, and that is what I found. I decided to shy away from the deal. What do you guys think ???

I am going back to see if they done what they said and if so make an offer. I was hurt that it was screwed with as I was paying for it to be "PERFECT" and to keep it for ever. I wanted to be able to say that I bought it new 20 years ago some day and it has neve been touched. Kinda of like a 63 split window that has matching #s and never been apart.
