1977 Donzi 16' SkiSporter w/trailer
100% original and unrestored, Stored indoors for 26 yrs and is as close to new condition as you can get. Original 300HP Corvette 350ci (350 FLV) Volvo 280 outdrive. Everything is in excellent working order, engine, outdrive, lights, guages, bildge pump, blower, tilt, etc. The only exception is the shifter which takes some finesse to get it in gear and should be replaced. Other than that it is lake ready. Boat is located in SE MI.

I thought I was going to keep this one, but I've said that about 30 times now.

ps. no this is not the boat that was on eBay, it had an orange bottom.

$10,500 or best offer or trade.

I will be away from the computer from 6/30-7/5 I can be reached via cell phone (586) 405-0779

Wes, it looks like he will be out of town for a little while but left his phone number in the first post. If you are serious, you should call him, at that price it might not be here by the time he reads your post. BTW, elcome to the donzi registry :)

Voodoocanoe, man that is beautiful!!!

Wes, Nice talking to you on Thursday, first inline buyer declined due to the engine requiring Hi octane fuel, (sticker on valve cover states "Minimum 92 octane required) and he planned on keeping the boat on a lift behind his house, and there is no hi octane available on his lake, so refueling would of been a major inconvience. I left you a message last night.

That is a Chriscraft marine conversion no matter what the badge says, it will run on 89 and under just have to drop the timing. We had several at our place back during the 70's gas crunch, the pirate gas we could get God only knows the octane. Damn near every boat had problems but dropping the timing down to 7-8 got rid of the detonation, did not seem to steal much power.

Mop, The engine (350 Chevy) was marinized by Marine Power Co. of Pompano Fla. They did indeed use a lot of Chris Craft parts in their marine packages.

Retarding the initial timing can cause other problems.

1) a lower idle speed, which when corrected by adjusting the idle speed screw can cause the primrary throttle plates to cover up the idle transfer slots causing a very rich idle condition.

2) Retarding the timing will cause the exhaust gas temps to increase, And it is not a good idea to put even more heat on the exhaust valves, I usually see 1 deg of timing @ WOT can change the temps 50-60 deg F on the dyno.

OK,The issue with the shifter is now repaired, it turned out that 2 of the 4 bolts on the shifter housing had backed out and let the shift detent ball and spring pop out that caused the shifter to jam. I spent most of the day repairing it, several swear words, and less 1 nuckle, but otherwise it went pretty well. So I had to take it out and test :D and it's ready for a new home.
ps. I'll trade the Donzi and cash for a 911 Carrera.
