UPDATE
I have been absent a bit from the board because of work, but I saw the need intervene.

1). The Donzi Girls section has been retired unless there is a strong request to bring it back. I am tired of all the crap from about 5 people.(out of 4000).

2). I also banned a member for 1 month for their constant disregard for my requests to stop making trouble. I actually made it permanent but had a change of heart. This is the 3rd time since 1998 since I have had to do this. I don't like it but I will do it as necessary.

3). All I ask is that we all play nice with each other. I am the webmaster of this site. No one else is. I have the final word on everything. I am not perfect but I do the best that I can.

I will support you in which ever way you decide to go, I would like to see the section restored. I can't belive that some folks have the time to give you crap about this. If it bothers them so much they need to stay off the site, or at least off that section. I think if they are in that section and open a thread by a person who is known for raunchy photos, they are getting just what they want to see.

your site Scot, your rules, the last thing you need is drama from a few people making your life more hectic. I will be sad to see it go, IMHO there were a lot more good posts than questionable ones, but unfortunately forcing personal mores on everyone else seems to be a passion for some. I will miss the section but will not miss the whining from the few. At the end of the day, this is still the best site on the web- we will support your decisions regarding this site whatever they are. :)

No different than some rich dude on a lake not liking loud +fast "cigarette boats" on his peacfull lake and getting a speed limit and noise restrictions thrown up. Not slamming you Scot, I understand it's almost like baby sitting and it's just easier for you to do away with it to avoid the bitchin. So thanks to those who complained enough to ge it removed, thanks for being my mommy. Maybe the FCC has some openings...... :rolleyes: Man this chit pisses me off. Not so much that the Donzi girls section is gone but how and why it went away.... whatever.... :rolleyes:

Unfortunately the Bill of rights nowadays is being interpeted as saying that anyone has the right to take someone else's rights away.

An example of this is school prayer. I am not a particularly religious person, but a person has the right to pray. It does not infringe on my rights for that person to pray in the same room with me. It does when they force me to pray with them.

Nowdays they say that no one in the room can pray because infinges on the 1 person who does not pray. Horse feathers!

I will not let this kind of perverse thinking spill over into this venue.

This site started out as a site for men. Men wanted boat photos of women. I can appreciate some girls not liking these types of photos. I don't like looking at nude photos of guys, but have tried to accommodate the women as well with the Donzi boys section.

I have taken great pains to state warnings about the donzi Girl area and a selct few still go in there and posted crap about it elsewhere.

I created the g rated area for those people who wanted to post photos of their girlfriends in a different area.

There is no way anyone can say I have not tried to accommodate the masses. As with anything else it's impossible to make everyone happy. For that I'm truly sorry, but I do the best I can.

The Donzi Girls is not gone forever. Its just a little inaccessible till I decide on the best way to put it back online. You would not beleive all the long ass posts I typed up and deleted last night.

In Conclusion....

Everyone please do not lose sight of these 3 important points.

1). This site's main purpose is FUN and boat information.
(reread this 10 times and make sure you fully understand it)

2). If you have any problems with anything I do or any way this board is run, take it up with me offline by email or phone.(You would not believe my cell phone bill) The quickest way to piss me off is to do this in public. I hate being blindsided.

3). This communication media lacks voice inflection and facial expressions. Its very easy to misinterpet someone. Give them the benefit of the doubt. Do not make it personal, Do not take it personal.

If you have a problem with any of these 3 points please leave this site imediately and do not come back. We do not need you on this site. Go create diamonds elsewhere.

I have enjoyed the site and will continue to visit. Not offended by what others do and knew when S. made another dayview, it was only a matter of time. Sort of stinks that 5 out of 4000 can have so much voice in the matter.

we ALL appreciate what you do here. we also know about all the grief and drama some threads and posts have started. whatever you decide to do with the site will be fine i'm sure.

it is however, my opinion,, that having two seperate sites, with warnings printed right below the links was going to be the final result. it was fair to all that way. noone wants to see our beloved donzi girls go away.

it also my opinion, (even though i am for full nudity) that the internet is full of such things, and i dont need to come to a boating site where i have made friends, talked boats ect. ect ect. to see that. i just HATE censorship.

as for what to do? on your part,,,, thats easy!! a simple ban to certain threads. if you dont want to be there, dont go. if you cant help yourself, and you need help staying away? we can do that too.

#3 is the main reason why I limit my posts and the same reason why I stared at the computer for ages trying to figure out how to say my bit. I agree with both sides...if that's possible. On one side, I love naked women, especially in person :yes: . On the other side, I come to this site only for the boating. There are a zillion sites out there dedicated to the naked body and that is were I will go if that is what I wish to see.

It is unfair that the wishes of many are ignored because of a vocal few, but I would like to be able to visit this site without the Donzi Girls/Guys section showing up. I agree with "if you don't like it, don't click on it", but having the sections even show up can cause problems for some. I don't like having to try and convince my wife and daughter that I don't frequent the DG section. I also have access to that section but don't ever recall requesting it :confused: . Either it was automatically given to me or, more likely, my son requested access. (So having to email to gain access is not very secure because there is no way of knowing who the 'requestee' is). Either way, it makes it very difficult to convince my wife/daughter of my intentions when visiting here.

It is the DG sections that have stopped me from being a financial supporter of this site. Now before anyone rips me apart for being a freeloader, you must understand my families morales. They may be different than yours...not better...not worse...just (maybe) different. How do I tell my daughter not to be flashing her naked body to strangers if I pay for a site that displays it.

For those of you that want the DG sections, I strongly feel you should have access to them. Myself, I'm not against them, I just don't want the hassle (in my household) that comes with their presence.

Guys, I'm not a prude. I'm almost 61, and I've been to many parts of the world, and experienced many different cultures.
What I've found to be true over the years is that SOME limits are useful.
Like, it's probably a good idea here in Florida that we don't have 80 or 90 MPH speedlimits on highways filled with elderly people who don't drive very well. I wish now that I had taken better care of myself now that i'm a cardiac patient.
You get the idea.
I listened one time to someone defending Howard Stern's RIGHT to say whatever he wanted to say on his radio show. I asked her what she would do to someone who walked up to her on the street and asked her some of the same questions Stern asked some of his "guests". Like;
Are your boobs real?
Do you "DO" your father?
Of course this girl suddenly didn't want to extend those same rights to the person on the street.
I guess that was a limit she placed on herself.
I guess my limit was the difference between the normal DG posting (you know what I mean) and the obvious pornographic content of Shannon's posts.
I support this site financially, and I feel in some small way that it's "my site". I enjoy it several times a day. I've learned many, many things from it and met some wonderful people.
When Shannon started posting, I felt kind of violated. I was sort of embarrassed like maybe as a seven or eight year old, walking in on your parents having sex. I felt like someone crashed the party. I thought a limit had been exceeded, and that overall it wasn't a good thing for the site as a whole.
It's not that anyone asked for my input, but what I would like to see in the DG section is an "R" rating, but not an "X" rating.

ABSOLUTELY! I am greatly OFFENDED by the picture of the man and horse with the man's penis overtly displayed. This is the reason that this county is going to HELL. Men are not to be OBJECTIFIED! I think men everywhere should be OUTRAGED. I come (heh-heh) here to see boats, not some man's schlong. And the correlation between the man and the horse is strong, such double meaning is DEGRADING to man(kind).

Then the next thread goes a little further, then someone calls Donzi, who allow this place we all love and frequent to be called the DONZI Registry, and the next thing you know a registered letter gets sent from Sarasota to Texas, and in big bold letters it screams CEASE AND DESIST.

Get over yourselves, this is a boating site, if you want to surf porn, be an adult about it, surf porn sites, and don't rely on a boating site to host porn so that you can tell your boss/wife/child that it's only a boating site, while you're looking at a recent OB/GYN shot from somebody.

If you feel that strongly that the DG section does not have a place on this site, you surely have the same opinion concerning the Donzi Boy section, right? I could care less if the section was there or not. I just hate how it all came about. If no one was complaining about the DG section and Scot felt it wasn't "right" for the site and just plain removed it one day, I don't think you would have as many people fighting for it to stay. I think it's more about how a few people are getting their way at the exspense of others rather than the section leaving.....

Again just want to make sure I understand.... nudity is still allowed in the Donzi Boy section, and not anywhere else.... :confused:

Baxter knows my family well.... I know his family very well... I'm gonna back him 100% on this one. I voted to kill it. My wife, and Heidi, and their mother's, have been known to attend the same church, at the same time, on the same days... neither appreciates their husbands looking at some stuff on this site. I have a wife and 2 daughter's... If I didn't know what my wife's anatomy looked like, I wouldn't have 2 daughter's right?? ;) Since I don't know the exact content on a given day, and 99.9% isn't open crotch pic's anyways, when I click on to look at, hopefully, tasteful stuff, I may get a surprise or two along the way, :yes: I accept that I guess... We don't want to worry about wives/kids walking in our computer room, and looking over our shoulder, when an accidental clitoris is displayed on the screen... that isn't the same as a Donzi bow eye is it? :cool: Even if it is in the front of the boat... :garfield: I really think Shannon's pic's caused all this hoopla. Everyone else was tasteful. Even when CG first joined, his were great, suggestive, clean, just enough, left something to imagine. That's REALLY what this section should be, and i'm for that, but not open GYN shots...

I find it very interesting that the 90% ++ of the people who WANT the site left open, either have no children, or are single individual's. They don't have the same concern that me or Baxter has, and Baxter has NO kids.

My last comment on this is this.

I hear some of you saying how bad it is and how you have not contributed because of it and other comments against the DG section.

Where were you folks 3 weeks ago? I can count all the negative emails and phone calls I have recieved about this subject in the last 2 years on my fingers. Thats not many at all.

I talk to alot of you guys every week. You even talk and laugh about what happening in the DG section. You voice no complaint.

Now all of sudden I get blind sided by all the "Me Too's".

You all have to let me know by email of phone if you have a problem with anything you see on this site.

One point to the person who said they don't contribute to the site because of the DG section. You are still here reading the boat posts. What with that?
