yet another prop question

Does anyone know if a Turbo 1 prop is "easier" to spin that an Merc Vengeance? Lets assume the same diameter and pitch for both.

My application is to swap out a 21P Vengeance with a 21P Turbo (turbo has a 1/2 inch larger diameter) and I am wondering if I can spin the turbo at the same RPM or if I should go down to a 20P Turbo.

RPM WOT at 4700. 16 Classic 4.3 Carb, 1.81 Alpha

If it has a bigger diamiter it will be harder to turn and drop you rpms I am sure someone here knows the formula or how much 1/2" increase will drop it.

I was hoping that the "style" of the two props might has some effect on performance.

There are too many variables to be able to answer your question. One being manufacturing tolerances. The Turbo could varying from 20.5 to 21.5. Assuming the Vengence has the same tolerance (could be more) there could be as much as 1 inch pitch difference from one to the other. You'll just have to try it.

I'm pretty sure the Turbo has a smaller diameter.
