I have a 1995 16 Classic, white with a red stripe. The red stripe (and white to a much lesser degree) has begun to fade. I have done a search here for this subject and found some good information regarding products and equipment but still have questions.

1. Having never used a buffer it is recommended I use one or can good results be had by hand?
2. If doing by hand what is the best product?
3. If using a buffer, what is best? I think there are different types…. orbital and “rotary”
3. Best products?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Forget the 'handjob', you'll thank me.
Sounds to me, with little info, you are at the point that you could use compounding, polishing, and then waxing. The longer you wait, the more work it is. (Can you say, wetsanding?)
As for products, read other posts, there are some very good products from various sources that will work well.
I use 3M compounds, Rolite polishes, Hot Rod's wax, and 303 Protectant to slow the process of fading.

Good Luck, have fun!
