Not sure, but I believe it is a single engine hatch opening to the side rather than the transom. Saw this once before on a 78' 18 Classic that was set-up that way. WS would be Wisconsin isn't it? Nice looking Classic!

I believe the barrelbacks have 2 hatches, opening to either side. Look closely at the photos, you'll see the line down the middle of the black stripe in one of the photos and the hinges on both sides on another photo.

I've seen barrelbacks with 3 hatches and 1 hatch, but never 2. The single hatch boats have a smaller opening in the deck than the triple hatch boats. The vents are located farther outboard because of this. This appears to have the larger opening and the same hardware as the triple hatch setup.

This is verrry cool.

Is it original???

Frank
Now I just gotta know....

'66 Triple Hatch.

It is nice and I believe the (708) area code is Illinois. I assume that is the location.

Curious to what kind of top speed you are getting from the 289?

Wow. A "double hatch" Barrelback. I've never even heard of one of these!

I've got to get that one entered into the Barrelback database! DonziJV, please e-mail me at eric.tolnes@verizon.net

Thanks,
Eric
