Forget the 74 MPH thing but even the "67" . seems like a lot...

No way it runs 74, it may run 67 until you put the gps on board. Everyone knows how heavy those gps units are, they really slow you down.

Lenny I am not sure how they rate the 6.2, my 300 Tempest I was told was 300 at the prop maybe a tad more with the Gil's. I was running an Alpha which has a little less mass to drag through the water, in perfect conditions 2 foot of chop and cool morning air my best wat 61.9. Flat and warm would just touch 60, in comparing with other SB 22's they said mine ran very well. I feel that with a shortie it may have gone 65+. Buizilla speaks of a 6.2 with a shortie that runs really great but has never stated the actual speed, if my experiment works out I am hoping for upper 60's but it is the cruise speed I am after. I may not make those numbers with the current cam. Hoepfully Jim will chime in with the speed on the one down by him.

The 6.2 w/shortie 22 down here (was stolen out of his yard just recently) ran 67-68 I am pretty sure. I know my Critter runs 67 with just me, and we ran neck-neck. Very impressive boat.

I know my 18 runs 74-75 on the speedo and that lying GPS only read 69.7! Where can I get that GPS recalibrated?! LOL

Well all the speed stuff aside it sure is a good looking boat, but then again a for a little extra Uumf one could consider a Pro Charger & a shortie and I think hit those numbers and still blow a BB away on fuel consumption.
