So my Minx needs another prop. I've been using Catch's labbed 25" cleaver, but I've bent it twice and the repair costs have already exceeded his asking price (no kidding). The 25 is a little too much as it tops out at 4550 RPM @ about 64 MPH. I also tried Phil Reeds 25" Mirage Plus. With that prop I was only able to rev to just over 4000 RPM, and it was just plain scary!!! :eek!:
A little background, 5.7 carbed Vortec probably 330-350 HP, original Alpha drive (1.5/1).
Obviously, I need something in the 23"-24" range, also something really stable (I need to keep Elaine content and feeling secure).
So does anyone have some good suggestions, and does anyone have any for sale (preforably used)?

I know there is a Turbo 23 or two floating around, though it may have to re-hubbed for a merc. Check with Poodle or Dr. Dan.
Also, Sam might have a 22 Turbo for an alpha still available.

Well, if I stay away from the upper end of the Ocklawaha river, and Lake Cumberland, I should be alright. Actually, it was the tips of two blades that bent, you know they're paper thin pointy thingies. I think a round ear in each case would have been OK.
So tell me more.

The price would be nice, or something to trade for, who knows. If you ship with a Blanchard invoice, it's a lot easier to justify. :)

Thanks Poodle.
I guess my lack of experience is showing. I bow to your wisdom.

Try it George if it works like Poodle say find a hubbed one, a solid hub will take out your clutch dogs over time they are hard on bottom shifters Fine on cone shifters.

It ain't his clutch dogs I'm worried about......

But, then again, I do stock the upper gear kits :) :)

Agreed but you have to admit they do eat clutch dogs pretty quick also, George I think needs forward looking Sonar :rlol:
