Cuda, can you describe your setup again for me on the Kaama? HP, props type and size, reduction if any in trans. I am still trying to work my props out for my arneson drives....driving me nuts. Thanks dude!

454/420 engines punched to 468, hotter cam 10:1 cr, I'm guessing 450 or so a side. Props are four blade 16x26. Danged if I can remember the reduction. I've probably got it written down somewhere.

As you know I am split personality ... have a Donzi F33 I am selling and I've been slaving over a Harley 43 for the past 1.5 years that has Arneson drives. Having prop troubles....can't afford 5 blad rolla props for $10k each (more than I paid for the boat)...looking for alternatives....or having my existing ones tweaked to work. Currently I have 19" diameter with 17" pitch 12-cup...need another 1000 rpm.

I have a pair of 16x23 four blades..19 spline????

My shafts are 19 spline but prop guys is telling me the boat is so long and heavy that I need to keep prop size up ...19"-diameter now. As I understand it, if prop size goes down, slip percentage goes up. Your props are 16 diameter and 23 pitch -correct?

guys have any idea how that will work on this beast of a boat?

the props came off of a 38' top gun with 598cid that weighed 10500lbs.. a bibbet diameter prop will push a wider wake but a smaller diameter will narrow wake and a harder and further thrust behind the boat...p.s. the cig ran close to 80 mph with thease props and a friend tried thease props on his 32'scater with small blocks 406 with kamma drives and almost hit 90 mph..
i see yours is a 43' a friend has a 40 ' magnum with arnison drives he had the best luck with a pait of 20x16 with 540 cid thay push the boat to 48mph.

MrFixxall- the Harley weighs in at probably (guess - everytime I get it lifted by a hoist the scale is busted!) 15,000 (1989 brochure says 10,000 but I dont bwlieve it). Magnums are big heavy boats also and usually have diesle CAT8s so gear ratios and probs are very different. The magnum props wer 20"diameter and 1-pitch ...close to what I probably need.

I'd like to do some experimenting.....are you local to try your props out?

How much you asking for them?

my ratios are 1.53:1 .

Carying props would not be fun on a plane but thanks for the offer.

If they could theoretically work/fix shaft - I'd gladly pay to ship em each way for a try.
