Mike Miller (Vancouver one) is heading to San Antonio on Thursday, (this week). Anyways, I want to find a HEAVY DUTY, no costs spared, (eg: 3/16-1/4" steel plate) black SMOKER that is about $600 or so US$. I want a chimney, and two chambers as well as the fire-box.

Anyone know where online I can look at these, where in the very close facinity to San Antonio that they have them for sale and stuff like that.

Hopefull the 5th wheel and truck are what MikeM thinks they are and he will be heading home with the new rig in tow and maybe a Smoker or two.

Thanx in Advance, Lenny :D

Lenny, I will look around for some. BUT to be honest, I'm not sure it will fit in the truck. The Drawtight is pretty far foreward in the bed. Now if the tool box came out....
Would you settle for a single chamber or something that would fit?

Lenny,

The brand you saw us use at the first PK round-up was an Oklahoma Joe.
One of my prized possessions, especially here is the north country.

The Uvlalde Life Time smokers were the ones you saw at the PK General Store. I was always very impressed with their construction and quality.

Do a search on the web along I-35 south to San Antonio. Got to be plenty of places from Fort Worth all the way to the border.

Getting a little home sick...

You know, these are portable versions of the wonderful "fixed" commercial smokers likie you find in numerous businesses in Central Texas like Kreus's BBQ (pronounced "Krites", and now under a new name) located in Lockheart, TX which has existed for more than 100 years. And I've enjoyed since the late '40's. Whole books have been written about the products of these establishments. Sometimes when I get homesick, I'll think think about eating there. Kreus's has won "Best BBQ" many times in Texas Monthly and Southern Living. I gotta stop. My mouth is watering!!! :)

George, Van's on I-37 between San Antonio and Corpus is some of the best I have ever had. Rudy's here is pretty good also. Hymmm, got some in the frig.....late night snack I think. :rlol:
Lenny, that last link was supposed to be to Uvalde Life(Lyfe) Time smokers but turned out to be a retailer outside of Fort Worth. That was the number I called from the website. You might try and call Lyfe Time in Uvalde and see who sells in SA. The guy I talked to, of coarse, didn't want to give out any information.
Hope this helps,
Wes
