VERY common engine these days, factory rated at 275, torquey and smooth, then add the whistler for more effect :biggrin: :umbrella: :yes:

Looks like a Vortec 4200 to me. Standard in GM's midsize SUVs.

There are clearly 6 plug wires....plus if you save the picture to your puter it is titled is "Vortech4200.jpg" ...... :biggrin:

When I bought my '01 Durango closeout, I was actually on the way to a GMC dealer to look at the new '02 Envoy. That motor was one of the reasons I was interested in it. The Dodge dealer made me a deal I couldn't refuse, so I never made it to the GMC lot.

That would be a great marine engine except for the following:

1. No aftermarket exhaust manifold, you would have to fab your own.
2. Bellhousing--is it std. Chevy?
3. Water jacketed turbo--are available, can do.
4. I'm sure there is something else to check.
