I own property in a lakefront community that allows only electric motors. Currently have a Minn Kota 50lb thrust battery powered motor on a flatback canoe which just seems really slow.
I'm toying with putting together a small boat powered like the pontoons and thought the Minn Kota E-Drive 2hp electric outboard might be the way to go. I'm not looking to spend $2500 for the drive and then have to purchase a 48 volt system.
Any feedback on this v. other drives? I'm also open to outboard electric's motors or others if they are better suited. Please email me a price quote if you can get me good pricing on these. Thanks in advance.
