anyone know what the little rubber button next to the ignition on the dash is supposed to be? there are wires going to it, but it doesn't seem to do anything. i have a 2004 18 classic.

i was also wondering why my trim tab pump motor runs for a few seconds after you turn the key off. is this normal?

thanks

Sounds like it could be the horn? Do you have a horn button somewhere else?

Sounds like it's a circuit breaker.

It is definately a circut breaker, I think for the iginition. As far as the trim tabs running after you turn off the engine, it is the auto tab retractor switch.

nope - i have a horn button. it's different than all the other dash buttons. it has a rubber boot over it. it is definately factory. maybe it is a circuit breaker. but it feels empty when you push it.

ok. that makes sense. so, the tabs automatically retract to some default position after every use? seems like a good idea.

thanks

You probably won't feel anything under the boot unless the circuit pops. I believe the button under the boot will pop out if the circuit shorts. Just push it in to reset.

make your own label for it,, "nitrous oxide" or "oh chit botton, or "PANIC" :jestera:
