Went out around 6pm tonight on my 28zx.502 single bravo.Running fast here on the chesapeake in the cooler temps. When all of a sudden the steering wheel pulled and my drive trim went in?So I ran some test runs to see.Boat trims out ok till about 70mph at 5000rpm.Then when I push it up to 5400rpm- 75mph the drive went/goes in?Did I mess up the gimble housing or the trim hld. rams?I did check the fluid level seems ok.
Could be a valve in the pump its self or one of the rams piston relief vavles. A small fleck can of most anything can screw up hydraulics. Do you have a buddy that would let you swap trim pumps for a to see if that is the problem, you can swap a pump pretty quick compared to getting the rams off. If you have to change a ram or rams buy a "good tubing wrench" for the hyraulic lines. If you need parts post what you need we have a good "Fuzzy" supplier!

A 28 would not have an integrated trim switch. Trim switch should be stand-alone on the dash.

While this is a twin 28, I'm pretty sure that is the trim button on the throttle (If not, what is it?). But then there are also rockers on the dash. Are the rocker switches for raising the drive for trailering and the throttle switch for trimming both drives at once.

Rootsy,I have trim switches on the dash.Trim+trailer.So I have added a Livorsi trim switch on the throttle control.Dont think thats the problem.Morgans cloud I had the motor torn down, sent the block to the machine shop They decked the block and honed it,did the heads with larger intake valves. They also cnc the crank,Added the hp-500 replacement cam from crane.MSD ign.New timing chain.Added larger dia. fuel line.Hollydouble pumper.Victor-jr intake manifold.Stainless marine exhaust with staight pipes out the back. The hp is somewhere around 500 to 550.Motor was rebilt at CMS in baltimore.I called them this morning and he thinks it is the valve in the trim pump or the rams.Just like what MOP said. Will have to fix, this is only going to get worse :bawling:
