Having broke the chank in my 454 last fall and rebuilding it over the winter. I had a guy install the engine and I believe he hooked the water up backwards to my pump. I now have a very hot motor and he's not returning my calls. It appears there are 3 bolts on a bracket 2 are no problem I can't even see the one under the crank. Does any one have a suggestion on how to remove it?
Thanks

If it is a stock Merc inboard pump there is a clench bolt that holds it in the bracket. Remove the hoses and the pulley, loosen the clench bolt on teh side od the round holder part of the bracket. The pump will slide out toward the rear of the engine, it is easy to switch the hoses but the bum should own up to it.

Phil

Edit: the bracket stays in place don't bother taking it off the motor!

The one on my engine has bolts running thru the bracket it must not be stock.
