A great tip for storing Merc EFI pumps! From me the guy that knows little to -0- about fuel injection found a tip for you fuelie boys! I bought 3 EFI pumps off Ebay the long and short one was frozen made click but no go! In my hunting of the info on the pumps I mentioned the ones I have my Merc dealer buddy he told me hook it to 12v and give it a good wack. He said never ever store a Merc pump dry that has been used without spraying WD40 through it, the gas dries and locks the pump. So when I got home I tried hooking up the dead pump and wacking it Wa La came alive, so I got all 3 and fired them up and shot WD through them they all sounded as if the doubled in speed so I am guessing they all were getting close to not working.
PS this works on any inline rotary pump.
