:wavey: I am posting this for my Gay Lover...."Johnny Revlon" he wants to acquire more Bling for his 22 Classic. I am looking for pics of Newer 22 Engine Hatches to show the 1" by 3" Chrome Trim Covers that go over the 2 Screw Heads that show on the Top of the Lid(Hatch) of the Newer 22's.

Johnny's is LipStick Red and Anglo White, as you all know...but on his '95 he just has the Screw Heads there...exposed. He wants to order the Covers...or the Newer Style hardware to adapt his...he finds he is screwed enough in life...and being persecuted as Johhny Revlon here is at times...unbearable...but he...he's my Biotch Boy! :smash:

So if anyone has a Pic of there Engine Hatch showing this Gas Strut Brace Covers...I will get them ordered thru Lakeside Restorations...Jamie is great at getting these type of items.

:smash: Thanks Poodle...I am gonna sick Jamie (Lakeside Restorations)on this Task...he got me my Latch Lock Springs and Washers from Donzi inside of 3 weeks...I have been after Donzi for over 2 years to even reply....on that part.

I think we should begin a "Funky Watcha Macallit Part Registry and Source Listing" for replacement parts...this is always a problem with these type of Random Replacement Parts. :bonk:

I think MP is right. I wasn't sure and didn't want to open my mouth and look like a dumbass. When I had my hatch off it looked like there is two studs shot to the back side of that plate. The strut has a bracket with 2 holes the studs go through with (2) 3/8" lock nuts securing it.

Rootsy
04-19-2005, 07:00 AM
on my 16 it is a plate with studs, extending through the hatch... strut bracket slips over studs, add nuts and go...

if i knew the hole spacing desired i could probably make one without too much of an issue...

Mad poodle was correct about Donzi & the stud plate for the top side not coming with it... I have one set coming for MR Carter.. As soon As I have the correct package price I will repost the accurate $ on the thread.. I pulled it temporarily so as not to mislead any board members... Jamie :boat:

I would be interested in the whole "sha-BANG" if you can get it. Hatch brackets, cover, inner deck hatch bracket and gas struts (2) for my 18. I don't like "looking" into my motor compartment at sea and then find myself doing a "double sow-cow with triple toe loop" in the middle of nowhere hanging onto this hatch that I had no intention of coming off the pins and into my arms  I have already lost one on land and I really don't want to lose one at sea too...

Is the plate on top of the hatch plated or stainless?

Is it a cover over the screws or deos it have threaded studs attached to it?

I need to rig up something for the hatches on my 18.

Frank

Lenny
04-26-2005, 09:51 PM
Frank, it is a flat, plated, chunk of something plated, be it gold or chrome. Studs are welded to it to protrude into the underside of the hatch where it mates with what you see in the picture. Simple stuff, only try and find it

I am also doing what you are thinking you are doing...

Hey guys. I dont know why these things are so hard to come by. They are OEM on the newer boats my boat came with them from factory and my 2 buddies boats have them too.I called donzi yesterday and if you have a defective part they say they will replace it. One screw stud broke off of mine when I reinstalled the hatch after an exhaust tip mod. Be careful not to over tighten them when installing them becuase you will break the weld. Getting them from the gentleman above seems like a much easier process than dealing with the factory :p

Thanks...
It's our first Donzi that my wife & I bought outright, But we have had several Donzi's before that the sole purpose was to sell that we did not own outright..

I have had several personal boats that were mine in the past since I was 16, some include:

14' Baja 120hp suzuki,

19' Century ski fury 440 Chrysler inboard,

25' Scarrab 454 mag/Bravo this was a great boat & one of my favorites before Donzi hooked my wife & I. I bought it at 18. This was the boat that hooked me since the Miami Vice era. I sold it along With my Porsche turbo & Sport bike when I was going to get married because the money had to go elswhere. Im sure everyone who is married knows what I mean. something about Diamonds & business I guess, At least I got to enjoy them for a few years. I guess love & buisness are worth it...LOL )

17' Magnum Tunnel hull#19 150 Seebold Merc SS,

19' Baja 403 Olds / Berkeley,

18' Switzercraft 150 merc (I just got this one recently & it needs to be restored),

1966 Mahogany Chris craft Holiday 327cid inboard,

14' Mini hawk 35 merc,

23' Century cruiser 350/alpha

And everyones favorite a 12' Sea Nymph 8hp Johnson which I inherited last year from my uncle's estate who I used to fish with growing up, and is now my shops utility boat...

Now Im down to the classic, the Switzer, A happy wife, family dog, house, solid business & playing the waiting game to have a baby (we need child labor so I can go boating...just kidding,) & somewhere between a 26 & 33ZX to add to the stable.... Jamie & Kristin :hyper:
