16 Classic engine room

Hello again all,

Does anyone have the exact MAX engine weight capacity for a 16 classic Looking at replaceing my 4.3L with the Vortect V8 5.7 I was told the v8 is :kaioken: 100lbs more the the 4.3

my 16 has a 5.0 v8 (same weight) from the factory so you should be good

A 5.0/302 SBF is at least 100lbs lighter than a SBC. A 5.8/351W SBF is very close to the weight of a SBC. Put a 351W in a 67 16 Classic with an Eaton drive about 10 years back ran great.
