Hi everyone.

Newbie here. Looking for a little advice.

Just got my Donzi about 2months ago. 2000 yr 28zf with twin yam 200's on the back.

Everything was sweet until this weekend. Started probably last weekend with the starboard engine. When coming off a wave the revs would drop by about 1000-2000rpm that come back up again.

I didn't think much of it at first.

Then now on smooth seas if I'm traveling above 3500rpm the starboard engine starts to fluctuate between 1000 and 3500 rpm.

And today when I checked again it will not come off cold start as if it is getting starved of petrol? and will not rev above 1500rpm.

I have checked ignition coils replaced spark plugs, checked filters oil and fuel. little water was in both. replaced these.

Could it be bad fuel/ blocked injectors, fuel pump.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance

Start at the begining check the fuel filters you more than likely have one before the engine and a small one under the cowl. Then another easy check is to T into the furl line with a vacuum gauge, if you show more then 7psi (should be close to 5) vacuum I would check the tank pickup. My hunch would be the tank pickup screen being plugged or the anti syphon partialy stuck with debris.

That was my first thought. My second guess would be a hole somewhere on the suction side of the fuel pump.

thanks again for all your replies.

I keep the boat outside my condo on the canal:biggrin:

The weather in Grand Cayman is great most of the time. Except for hurricane Ivan that wiped out most of the island on sep 11th last year. Still rebuilding.

My old boat sank during this. Pretty depressed but then i managed to buy the donzi:cool:

As for the engines they are fuel injected but not the hdpi.

I think you guys would love it down here during the easter weekend. WE have a million dollar poker run. Which is sponsored by a local billionare on the island. It is a great weekend and anyone can enter with a boat 26 ft or greater.

2 classes under 700bhp and above.

anyway back to checking out the boat will let you all know how i get on.
