Hello,

I wanted to share some info I got from some minor modifications to the small block in my X-18

Sorry about the cut and paste, Microsoft paint is not the best progam to use.

Looks like some pretty big numbers, but they are awfully high in rpm. Most outdrives can't take that rpm for long.

Cuda,

His peak numbers were at 4600 and 4800 RPM respectivly. That's perfectly fine for just about any drive out there.

Brian, What do you have? What were the setups before and after. The way I read it, you picked up 30+ HP and 50lb/ft torque..

Almost 90hp gain!!! nice 457hp? sounds like some fun. With the E:drive you should be well over 80.

Hello Everyone

The small block got some aluminum heads, custom built carb with better fuel curves and new roller cam that is quite big.

The old setup made 378hp
The new setup makes 457hp

I usally like to max out at about 5800rpms with my volvo outdrive.

Geoo, what did you think of the auto show???

That M3 Sedan was calling my name

I liked the show.
No more toy's for my house...I'm all Toy'd out..
I have three kid's in the house; a 40 year old, a 2 and a 4 year old.
That new Mustang is cool.
All these Hot new American V8's need to make it to the marine industry. Hemi's etc...

The M3 is a great all around car. Sports car and daily driver in one.

I must be reading something wrong. What is the column on the right where the hp maxes out at 6100?

Albeit the torque curve does have a nice slope and flat top.

What kind of idle speed are you getting out of that setup?

Nice flat curves. Even at 5500 rpm it's pushing 450hp with higher torque(420lbs) than the upper rpm. Anywhere from 5500-5800 should work great.
