Hello, I just bought a 1997 22ZX with a 7.4l Merc. It came with a Mirage 21 prop. Due to Wintger here I just made a short test drive when I bought the boat, now its winterized. A friend offered me a almost new lab finished 24 Bravo I prop and I was wondering if this prop would fit. I read at mercurymarine, that adding one inch of pitch will reduce WOT by 150-200 RPM. Additionally an upgrade from 3 blade to 4 blade will also reduce RPM by 50 to 100. This would mean I loose 500 to 700 RPM? Has anybody experience with this application and a Bravo I? I have to make a decision fast, because my friend wants to sell the prop. I can´t give you any rpm I am achieving now. What speed can I expect, if this works? The former owner told me it will do 65 mph with the old prop.
Thank you in advance.

I have the same boat, 22ZX non-step hull.
You would need to tell us the RPM you are getting at WOT. If your engine is stock, keep your original prop.
I've modified my 7.4 with a procharger and other goodies. I turn a Bravo 1 - 28" @ 4800 RPM.
I don't think the Bravo 1 is the correct prop for this hull @ 70+ mph. It seems to lift the rear way to much and starts to bow steer.
Enjoy!

I have a 2000 ZX stepped hull with 350 MAG MPI with the 4 blade 24 pitch Bravo 1 prop. I can cruise 63 consistently with a max of 65.5 gps verified WOT pushing 5100rpms. Probably not a good comparison with your setup.

Unfortunately I can´t remember the RPM at WOT at my test drive. For now the boat is winterized and next time I drive the boat is in 8 weeks. You suggest to stay with the Mirage 21. It seemed for me underpropped that was the intention to buy the bravo 1. Anybody the same set up? Is the Bravo I only good for the stepped hull?

With the engine set up you have the 24 pitch will not give you the desired speed, I had a 22 ZX 1998 Step Hull and I was running a 22 Pitch before I supercharged the boat she ran 62 mph with 310hp. If you use the 24 you may want to lab it to a 23. But your non step hull runs better with a 3 blade prop.

Thank you for your advice. So I better stay with the Mirage! The lab finished Bravo 1 24" was a great offer, but unfortunately not for my boat:frown: .
