I have a 74 Ski Sporter with a 350sbc. The ignition is complete MSD i.e. distributor, rev. limiter, control box. I have a morse shifter & controls with a volvo 270 drive.

Got a question...can I use MSD's shifter interupt module to take the strain off the drive when engaging either forward or reverse. It's not EFI rather a carbed model if that matters.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Kirk the big thing with the Volvos is setting up the throttle linkage properly like the factory meant it to be. If you take a look at a stock setup the throttle connetor at the carb is drilled to allow the cable to slide a little ways before it picks up the carb, this allows the drive to engage before any throttle is applied making the shift very soft. Most people attach the cable with a direct pivot which makes the drive slam into gear.
