My friend Dom is currently looking at 2001 38ZX Daytona with Twin 575 Mercs. Has the XR Drives on it. Question is: What ratio are these drives? They claim the boat does 89mph? Any info will be great!!

PS. Yes guys she is a female buying this boat!!!

1.5's is my guess. The 38ZX (2004) we run with is 525's at right about 80.
I would think the 575's would have you in the mid to high 80's with breathing room for a bit more.
And remember the Daytona's in 2001 had a different glass lay up than the standard 38's, a good thing, a little lighter.

Call Donzi for a performance spread sheet on that years boat, it will show testing data, prop size, air temp etc.
I have the ones for my boat, just call and ask.

I would be suprized if the boat does 85. The 2001 boats with the Daytona option were only 1000 pounds lighter max. Plus they did not have a notch. The XR drive ratios are 1.5. The 575 only put out 550 horsepower compared to the 525 which put out 530-540 horse. That is why merc came out with the 600. That fact is not well known. My boat does 79 with ITS, XR and 525's. I am currently running labbed 30 Maximus props which seem to be the best for cruise and top end. I would be very interested to see the top end in that boat.
