So I've been working diligently to finish the major details to launch the Minx.
So today I got the numbers on the hull, the seats bolted in and the steering wheel installed.
Caqtch 22 (Jim and Gina Collins) were here visiting his parents, so he helped me launch it.
We had a couple of small incidents before we got underway. Jim rode with Elaine and myself, Jims parents were in his Procharged 22 (it takes one of those to pass me) :hyper: . Well, I don;t have all the wiring bugaboos fixed yet, the tabs don't work for instance, but everything else works.
The closed cooling with the Mezzeire electric circ pump works beautifully, the temp quickly came up to 190-195* and stabilized. Overall it was a very successful day. We were pretty excited. Jena got some pictures of us underway, I'll post them as soon as he emails them.
1 & 2; Starting
3; Jim getting a birds eye view, I'm in there too on the port side.

Yeah it does!!!
I've actually not slept well thinking it would sink at the ramp. Crazy stuff.
Actually it was a very successful day. It surpassed my expectations. I have another prop to try, but the original (21") did 53 @ 4000 RPM (for only a few seconds), and 42 @ just over 3000 RPM. We rode around for just under an hour. Jim has loaned me his 23 but that will wait for another day.

Congratulations George!! I'm sure it feels great!!

I know what you mean wondering about sinking at the ramp and all the other things that could fall off or come apart. I went through the same thing with mine when I first bought it and when I put it back together.

She looks fantastic and I hope you enjoy the fruits of your labors for many years.

It floats AND runs!!!!
If I had to choose only 1 of the 2 floating would probably win.
:) But hey you got your cake and got to eat it too!

George,
I really like the look of the cut down windshield. It really seems to give back the lines to the boat.It is something i have given thought of doing to my 87 22C for sometime. Boat looks great !

Ken when I bought the boat, it had no windshield, so I tried this color scheme to help compensate. It seemed to work. But if you look elsewhere under this heading, you'll see I have found a windshield from a Minx that crashed into some rocks in Seattle. I have to still finish the engine hatch repairs and polish and mount the windshield. I Will have this done by Mt Dora. Two weeks to go!

George ,

You must be more excited than a child on Christmas morning .

I quite like the way it looks now , but will the strip on the deck change when you put the w/s back on ?

Don't underestimate how great it's going to look when the rub rail goes back on ... right now it's sorta like having a tux on wearing sneakers :biggrin.:

Congratulations ....

Steve

Wish we had those launch facilities here .......
