Setup:

X-18, stock 2004 350 block w/4barrel carb mated to Volvo 280 outdrive.

Runs well with the stainless prop I have (don't have numbers in front o' me), but at full blast I am running close to 5OOO rpm's. My engine guy says this is a little high.

Do I need a taller prop?

Ideas? Again, it's a Volvo outdrive. What kind of speeds/RPM's should I expect for top performance?

Thanks, Ben

I would say 5000RPM for a 2004 350 roller motor is perfect.

Thanks for hte input. I bought the boat from Donzi Racer and he said that the prop was right on- he searched and searched for the prop on there now. I agree, but are you sure that running 5000 rpms won't blow it up after a while?

What is the "danger zone" on a 350 setup like mine?

Thanks, B

Ben

You should be fine. Sit tight just a while longer and let me get my hands on the Solas props 21 and 23 inch and we will see what they do on your boat.
What hand are you turning?

WILCO.

I don't know what hand, I think right, but I will check. May be down in Pie-cola this wknd for the night. You gonna be around?

The motor will turn 5000-5200 with no issues. The only thing to keep in mind is that's on the edge for Alphas and Bravos.
