I’m mounting a factory windshield on my 1979 classic 18’ 2+3. Can someone give me the dimension from the bow to the base of the windshield?

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,

--------Which windshield are you using? A 1979 windshield would have been a "Taylor Made" two piece wrap-around affair about 14-15 inches high in the center tapering down to a point around the two corners. The currently available windshield is a three piece, very low windshield (maybe only 7 or 8 inches high). It would help if we knew............Bill S

David,
I know when you work and where you keep your X-18....I'm mounting a windshield on it next. Then you're getting a radio!

Bill S,
I must have a new windshield. It is the low profile three piece type.

Finally got to see Dan's boat today for the first time.
Looks like he did good and got a very nice 1979 boat.
Can't wait to pull the motor and tweak it for him.
The ---- thing about the boat is he installed a windshield on it so when I put a Bimini on it for him I also will be able to attach a dodger from the bimini to the windshield really protecting him from getting his hair messed up or wet. Am thinking of using some of the tin roofing or FEMA blue tarp material we still have laying around as the bimini covering.
OH and his boat already has a VHF radio mounting bracket in it so guess who get's the radio.
Don't turn your back Dan

22 Feet

Er, that's incorrect. 18 and 2+3 = 23 feet.

(I personally know that, even with shoes off, it's difficult to count that high...)
