Just a few days away! My new boat is enroute to Virginia from the factory. Hopefully it will be in the water next weekend for a shakedown cruise before the tow to Cumberland. The factory is right on the schedule they promised. I am getting anxious. As for Bryans 22ZX. Well I owned that boat. It could sit for a month and still be cleaner than most. I have never seen a guy keep one so sweet. If you have to turn the keys over to someone and look at your boat a lot. Make sure Bryan is the guy you sell it to. It looks better today than the day I took delivery on it a couple of years ago. See ya at the Lake!!!!!!!

Anybody know how easy it is to get gas. Is there gas available on the lake?

According to the Lake map I found, there are lots of places to get gas on the lake, including at Jamestown Marina. All it takes is money!! http://www.donzi.net/ubb/smile.gif

In regards to the gas situation. Plenty of gas as you roll through town on the way into the lake. Just avoid the stations right off of the highway as they were about 20 cents higher than the ones further into town when I was there last time. Fill up because I don't think it will be too practical to load up and go back into town for more. Twenty to thirty minute hike depending on where you are staying. Todd

Geeo,
Bandit may be able to give a more recent update, but when I had the twin 800SCs, thirsty buggers that they were, I never saw high test on the docks. Sorry man. I will kick in for some petro to get a ride on your beast. Should I bring the kevlar lifelines? Todd

George,

I've never got it but I heard there's 92 at either the State Dock or Jamestown. You can try Jamestown at 270-343-5253.

See www.76falls.com/Gasprices/gasprices.html (http://www.76falls.com/Gasprices/gasprices.html) for current 89 oct. gas prices at each major dock. It's running $2.29 at both Jamestown and State Dock.

OOUCH!! $2.29?!! I thought ours was bad here at 2.12 but that's smokin'! Oh well, I guess I'll add the tin cup to my pack up list...

COME ON SUNSHINE!!!

roadtrip, we still on for the mid-lake rendezvous on Thursday? Any other early AOTH scouters wanna join up with us that day for a FAM run of the lake?...

"Big Offshore Guy", finished replacing the entire brake assemblys, replaced brake lines, reservoir/hitch assy. and replaced all bearings on my trailer finally today myself. It's practically new now. Also, got a hard bite on the RAY this afternoon. This could be a step towards that 288 I've had my eye on... http://www.donzi.net/ubb/cool.gif

Madpoddle,
I don't think the oxygen will be needed for the elevation, but if you have a ride in Geoo's or Frank's boats planned, I'd bring it with you. A ride in those boats has to take your breath away. http://www.donzi.net/ubb/smile.gif

I bet it's the same program from Florida to Michigan, Oregon and Texas to CT. "Tomahawk" is cleaned and polished and on the trailer covered until Friday. My engine tuning guy did some work on the Magnum last week with jets etc. to adjust for altitude, expected temp etc. so I'm ready and anxious to get going. Four days of meetings and then-- we're outta here! See y'all in Kentucky. http://www.donzi.net/ubb/wink.gif

Hi everyone. Just wanted to take a moment and wish everyone a safe, no trouble, trip to Lake Cumberland. Owen from Oregon left last Wednesday to arrive this coming Wednesday or Thursday, so unless there is a PC in his van along with everything but the kitchen sink, I've missed him in this wish. I know the VA gang is planning on arriving Wednesday this week and the TX duel on Thursday. As all of you get ready to make the trip, try to get a good nights sleep before you leave so that you are fresh for your drive. Take Care and watch out for those who go astray like the person Geoo had an encounter with. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and making this one of the most wanted to attend Donzi gatherings in the years to come. I hope to get a picture of all of us together on the lake that we can give to Donzi Marine to put in their next years catalog since we will have both the old and the new Donzi models in attendance. Again, HAVE A SAFE TRIP TO KENTUCKY!

I've heard State Park Lodge, Jamestown Rest, and Lee's Ford are good places to eat.
I hope we get to run up the lake on Sat and mabe eat at Lee's Ford (long walk) or Burnside (if they have a grill).

Tom or Frank, how much would you charge to detail Genuine Risk? I'll test drive yours while you're working on mine http://www.donzi.net/ubb/wink.gif!!

I will be headed to Cumberland Fri AM. If anyone has truck or trailer problems around Knoxville you can call me for assistance.
My phone # is listed (Seveirville,TN)

How about getting the life jackets out for the high speed runs?
Lets wear our kill switches.
Use your peripheral vision and look over your shoulder before turning!
Think ahead.
Keep a safe distance.
Watch for trash (logs)!
Show off your docking skills around the docks
Be considerate around boats rafting up
Watch out for those &#*$!@ jet skiers! I had to use reverse to keep from running over one that fell in front of me Sat. http://www.donzi.net/ubb/mad.gif

Rick: GREAT POST!!!! Wise words!!! I for one never wear a jacket in my boat on home turf, but I will honestly tell you now, I pulled my jacket from the cuddy and adjusted the straps, when there are allot of fast boats in one area, one, just one mistake could cost a family dearly!!!! If you saw the news here in VA (CNN too) we lost a mom and a 9 YO daughter this weekend right at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, launched from Kiptopeke and lived in my old place in Exmore VA, experienced boaters, caught by a sudden/brief storm... thank GOD her sons survived the water temps over night, or at least thus far!!!

I spoke with Scott B. tonight, he is ready, I too wish everyone a safe trip....

see ya all in KY... Bryan
P.S.... and for those whose docking skills are sometimes rough, grab a line! http://www.donzi.net/ubb/smile.gif
