Prop Help

I just had a chance to run my, new to me, 1989 25 Ft Ragazza. It has the Ford 460 and OMC King Cobra outdrive. I was pulling about 45 mph at 5000 rpm. The engine was capable of higher revs so obviously I need to change prop set up. Does anyone have experience with this boat/power combination? What are the advantages of four blade Vs 3 blade. The current prop is a 14.5 X 21 three blade.

Your spinning it plenty fast enough I would not look for more RPM, I would try another type prop may give you a bit more.

Right now it's a generic three blade aluminum. If I hammer the throttle it will continue to climb in rpm's. Not fast but steady. I let it run up to 52-5300 before backing it down.

Thanks, I will check it tomorrow and get back to you. Doing the math it looks like a larger diameter might be the ticket.

Looks like I should have looked for myself to begin with. It is a Michigan Wheel 15X17. It has 15 splines.

I found a 15X19 that I will try. Hopefully that puts me at least in the ballpark. Then I can adjust according to those results.
