Bob at Bilt-Rite does not have the patterns for the carpet in the X boat. We have discussed that. He does have the templates for the Classic 18.

Question, is the floor area (to be carpeted) in the X-18 the same as the Classic 18? Did they leave the sole of the cockpit alone when they re-shaped things?

As there are no Classic 18's around this is impossible for me to predict. Whereas, in Poodletown there are probably 20 or more just on the way to the corner store.

Anyone know?

Lenny,
I made a pattern up for my X-18 and sent it to R & R Textiles in 2001. My carpet cost $ 300.00 back then. A year later Brad called R & R and they still had my pattern to make his carpet. I delt with Lucy, ext 106. (800)835-5320

Carpet configurations vary from year to year even on the 18's. When I asked Bob at Bilt-Rite to make a carpet set for my 1986-18, he said he had the pattern. But when I got the carpet, it didn't fit. So I sent him my old carpet set which he copied. Bob moved me back to the front of the line and apologized for the delay. Now that's customer service....!!However, if you don't have the old carpet, just get some sheets of "chip-board" cardboard from your local blueprint service and in 30 minutes you can cut and tape together a pattern. Send to Bob and wait for a beautifully crafted carpet.
