View Full Version : Chris Craft XK19
I'm looking at a 1973 XK19 and it has a Volvo outdrive. When I look at other, similar boats (I am unsure of what year they are), I see that they are inboards. I am sure that some member knows all about these boats and can tell me more about them.
Thanks,
Chop

I was looking at a beatup v drive XK 19 SuperSport. great lines, but lousy quality. I kept comparing to a donzi (which I still don't own! damn). Also, very shallow v bottom. Definitely not 25 degrees like my Nova.

I think I know the boat. White with a maroon stripe - maroon interior. Flat hatch with no stripe. Corvette 350 - all blue. Spotlite on deck at front?
Nope. Actually it's white with a yellow stripe and yellow interior. Nifty, (what were they thinking?) shag rug to give it that 70's look.

Craig - What year is the Arabian? I have a 19' '69 w/440. Transition boat (plywood/canvas deck and glass hull). Speaking of stringers...Most Centurys of this vintage end up w/keel and stringer rot due to porous glass weave.

Kong: Mine doesn't have the porous glass weave....its wood. They made a hand full of wood ones in 66, 67, and 68. It probably looks just like yours. I think they started making the glass ones using the wooden hull as a pattern in 1967, same hardware, etc. Mines is 390 powered (285hp). Thanks for asking. Quite attractive boats, arent they? Craig

Just re-did 1970 X19 for fella I know. 350 LT motor, Volvo outdrive....white with brown strip. Fiberglass was layed very poorly! Before I Imron the whole boat I could very easliy see the glass layed in sections.
Other than that very neat boat....from what I heard transom was from Bertram?

Kong: What kind of speed do you get out of your 440? Do you have tabs? Fixed or hydraulic? I am anticipating high 40s but have never run the boat (I have only had it since 1996!) since I took her apart immediately after purchase. Thanks.
