looks resonable to me if the glass windshield was replaced with a fiberglass fairing, what year did they go to the son of a gun with the 2 bench seats???

There's a lot that looks weird about that compared to my early eighties 20. The deck looks short, there are no "shelves" or whatever you want to call the interior side pieces (glass on mine) that they mounted the original shifter on, and the steering is on the wrong side. The front concave sections of the hull look too concave also. On the other hand, the rear deck and lid look correct. Could be that they redesigned this thing after the early eighties, the photos look distorted for some reason, or this ain't no cig. I am not sure what the year "1996" is reffering to in the description.

More of my opinion (always have plenty):
Not a great candidate for a blackhawk. No rocker in the hull (unless he added it) and the boat naturally needs a lot of trim to get the bow up. Probably rides with too much bow in the water. Also wonder if he raised the X dimension which is required to get the most out of the Blackhawk (also reducing the drives ability to get the bow up).

Front cover, Hot Boat July 1995. Talks about how the old mold that lay dormant for ten years being brought back into current step. Power options included Mercruiser's full EFI menu (350, 454, 502)linked to a Bravo Three drive. Cover boat tested with 502. Cool pics and reading.http://www.donzi.net/ubb/graemlins/biggrin.gif

so what do u figure for numbers on this one if a 22 bh runs 80, this boat is probably the same weight or close just shorter??

29k is what i see all the bh 22 start at and they are far less 20 cigs in the world

Matty,
good point on the price.......
I still think it wont meet the reserve.
My guess is that it runs close to 80 MPH

I have a question for those who know... How do the cig 20's compare to a 22 classic? ride, handling, speed, etc. Just curious as my father is considering one or the other. Thanks.:)

very similar in all aspects ,tough choice everyone recognizes a donzi but the cig 20 is a very uncommon boat

1. New owner lives 5 miles high.
2. New owner has a Classic 18.
3. New owner Tried to buy a '76 Cig 20 last summer at the LOTO.
4. New owner likes White boats.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?
I bought it as a birthday present for my father. It will live at LOTO on the Gravois Arm, 2.5 miles up the Gravois after turning at mile marker 6 on the main channel.
Here are some pics. Engine is a Merc 502 MPI. Boat runs 74 to 77 mph depending on props. Boat has 38 hours. Blackhawk drive with two sets of props. Neat history on boat.

Dauley, you are right on the money concerning this boat. I was able to buy it for $25K including a new Eagle aluminum trailer. Boat does the high 70's and it is a gift for my DAD who has always wanted a small fast good rough water boat. My classic 18 was hard for him to get into the drivers seat. I was looking for a nice 22', but now I get to own both a Donzi and a Cig. The only other boat that I wanted to get him was a Criterion II, but to no avail. I still think that this is a nice alternative.

Don

I think I will change my Registry name to DonCig if it is not taken.
