I restored a magnum sport and put a 2003 starfire deck on it, then gel-coated it black. Also it has been converted to a single big block. She is being built for P-class racing this year under the Pirate Racing Team. What do you think?

Beautiful boat, can't wait to see how she runs with the single. I have always wanted to do exactly what you are doing.....except for the racing part.....hmmmmm

That is sweet!! Did you convert to the single yourself?? Great job. If it's done, try to bring it to the AOTH.

It's on May 21,22,23, 2005 on Lake Cumberland Ky. It's a donzi meet, with around 40 boats. You would be the hit of the party. We all love Dons boats. :lifeprese

That is beautiful! A fine example of what a classic boat should look like.

Where'd you get the top deck from?

Sounds good but I don't know if it will be done in time or not, if it is I will be there. It all depends on how long it takes the interior guy to fab it up and get it back to me.

Magnum, it was about a month old when I got it. It hadn't even been trimmed yet

LOL, you know the boyz @ Magnum didn't believe you were coming for the deck till the trailer pulled up! Congrats on a great resto job, good luck this season!!!

No, I didn't know that, but they didn't seem to happy about it at the fiberglass shop, I guess they had other plans for it. It was a long scary ride back to Tennessee from Miami with that deck on the trailer. I really like the starfire deck over the old sport deck though. It gives it a lot more engine room space. Thanks for the complaments, i'll post more when it comes back from the interior shop

LOL, yup, that was the prototype deck for their 35th anniversary edition boat.. They still havent released it, I think you shell shocked them :D :D :D

You know I had a feeling that is what they were going to do with it. It is not supprising that they didn't believe me. Most people don't seem to take me to seriously I guess because of how old I apear and sound. That is O.K. though, I like to proove people wrong!! I van't wait to finish it and stop back by Magnum and show them the end result. I think it is going to turn out pretty good in the long run. Thanks for the info.

Sounds like a winner. Maybe I'll bring my 22C along and you can show me the Chattanooga water scene.

Sounds like a plan, we don't have many Donzi's down hear. Unfortunatly in Chattanooga if it isn't a Baja or Scarab people don't know what it is

Small world I am in Dallas Bay off of the main channel like going to Chester Frost Park. Where are you at? We will have to meet up sometime this summer. Just look for the house with the pirate flag at the water. Did you hear we are hoasting the APBA national championship races in October? It will be in front of Erwin Marine and Lakeshore.
