I left mine hanging. But some lower it onto some large blocks of foam.

I also left it hanging...I used a 2x4 thru the hatch, and a 5' 2x4 along the underside of the foredeck. Go thru your fuel filler hole for this one. I'll look up some pics and post them tonight.

Once you set deck on floor or whatever base you plan to use, cut some 2x4's so that they will reach from the floor or base to the sides of the deck, we usually use at least 6. Then screw through the existing rub rail screw holes to attach the deck to the supports. We use large carts for this, which enables us to move decks around while maintaining support.

Also measure the width of the inside of the deck in 2 places approx equal distance from transom. Cut 2 2x4 these lenghts minus 1/2 inch and screw them to the hull at the same distance from the transom as this will prevent hull sides from sagging.

Have fun

It's my ongoing project.
I wish my deck had sagged just a little. Its been off since September and I'm ready to put it back on. With some of the fixes I used I have to pull the stbd side down about 1".
Anyway, there may be something useful there.

Is the deck in need of work? If not, just hoist it and hang it.

I just lowered mine to the floor after pulling the hull out from under it. Some plastic milk crates and some odd pieces of lumber to support the ends from sagging and blocks under the corners of the cockpit floor.

I used 2 furniture dollies, (each with w casters) and connected them together with 2 2X4"s. I then was able to roll it around while working .
