Base Radio Scanner

I have been looking at new scanners and wondered if anyone had any info on "trunking" scanners? I have an old Uniden handheld for listening to Weather, police fire etc, and I wanted to move up to one that receives 800 mhz calls and aircraft stuff too.

I have a Uniden Bearcat BC350A, its and oldie but does all of that. It can be used a s base or as a mobile, a newer one must do even more.

I think I want a base model, the one I currently use is a handheld.
