I was coming off a boat and walked up the ramp to get to my truck when I experienced the weirdest thing, I wear glasses and thought I had lost a lens, and then both, no depth perception or such, grabbed my glasses and all was there, coordination was not there, like I could not coordinate anything with my eye sight, f#$$%%^% scary, ANY THOUGHTS :cussball: SCARED

Maybe you should get checked for a stroke?

Was it like the feeling you sometimes get after being in a boat, (jigging or whatever) for an ENTIRE day and then you step on a dock and it is obvious that you can't stand up properly or maintain balance ???

Check your blood sugar.

That's the exact same thing that happened to me on April one.... then I had a TIA stroke and mild heart attack that day. Same symptoms...mine was a blocked carotid artery on the right side of my neck that feeds the back of my eyes... my vision was blurred, and I was having severe unexplained dizzy spells for about a month before the actual attack. Take this as a warning, it's no laughing matter, seek medical counsel immediately. I was minutes from Code Blue.

I agree with Jim .... And if I were you I would go ASAP to a medical facility to have a work up done . It kinda sounds like you were experiencing TIA symptoms however there is a reason for that happening ie. a block in the pipes somewhere . The younger a person is the more a heart attack is serious ... Seems like older people would be in more danger but that is not the case . Older hearts actually make vessels to "bypass" blockages in some cases ... A younger heart muscle hasn't had the time to do so ... In short ... Get moving to the hospital buddy and let us know how you are ... You may also want to think back when your last meal was ... Could possibly be low sugar ...

I am not a doctor nor should you be seeking advice from those who are not. You need to seek medical attention for such symptons. Due to my occupation we do train to identify such symptons and stroke is not out of the question. DO NOT DELAY!!!! Go seek medical attention. Time lost is not good.

Lots of LOVE and Christmas Best Wishes here bro. A day here and there won't be a big deal.
Heed that advise, don't pretend to be "Superman", (you are NOT) and check out what is going on.

You always have a "FAN CLUB" of well wishers here, and apparently we (well wishers) are here and more responsive than the immediate Family. :D (Lots of PUN intended:D )

Kidding of course,, BUT, on serious note, get it looked at.

Think of it like a "noisey valve". No biggy, just a nuisance till it is "worse".

Very SIMPLE at the beginning.

Listen to them

Take care :)

Okay, you have received the best advice your friends can give you. Now I hope you are at the DR. office today having this checked out.
You could of course blow off your friends advice and figure this was just a one time thing (it isn't) and then pretend it was no big deal (it's IS). Then, when you leave Diane alone with the Donzi it will be a GOOD thing... for US! We will love enjoying your Donzi and will raise a toast to your memory evey time we go out in your boat with Diane.
Have a great day, and let us know what your doctor tells you. Be sure to listen to your doctor VERY carefully.
From your been-there-got-the-chest-scar friend,

Well went to the good ol doctor with no results yet, EKG passed, blood pressure a little high which he says could be just nervousness, will have blood work back tomorrow and go from there, he even sent me to the eye specialist to have them dialated and check for blood clots, all ok, so awaiting blood work patiently, thanks for all the support, and on a last note, MERRY CHRISTMAS :D :D :D

Glad to hear you went to the Doc. Hope it's something minor, if anything at all. Good luck.

mark, my EKG looked great, it wasn't until I did a stress test that the problems showed up. It don't cost that much. I paid for it out of pocket.

For one more point of view, my exercise stress test in December '03 showed nothing and was of no help whatsoever in predicting my April 04 heart attack. :cussball:

They are not a very reliable predictor of future trouble. That doesn't mean you shouldn't have one, just know that they can miss things. I've read that people with arterial blockages up to 75% can perform normally on stress tests. With a 50-75% blockage, a hunk of plaque can dislodge and get caught in the narrowing. Boom, heart attack or stroke.

Insist that your doctor keeps looking. The costs may seem high, but keep it in perspective. I'd conservatively estimate that the treatment and rehabilitation from my heart attack cost my insurance company $50K.

That was exactly my scenario as well, I had a plaque blockage at the carotid V-split in my neck, no treadmill will ever show that. I had a dye injection and MRA scan, which then showed it. MRI missed it... I wouldn't be here today, if they hadn't found that with the MRA scan. Nuke stress test is an excellent tool as well, but don't freak out when a neurosurgeon, EMT and cardio Doc are all in the same room for that 4 minute test...

So, there you go, Marc, case studies from several crusty, old, survivors who have "been there, done that, got the scars!"

Take your warning signs seriously, insist on good detective work from your doctor and hopefully, you won't have to join the club. Although any "survivors club" is a good club in which to belong!!!!!

UPDATE :eek!: So went to the Dr this morning and the blood work was not too good, my red count is wayyyyyy up and my blood is so thick that it took over an hour with a HUGE :shocking: :shocking: needle to drain a pint to try and thin the blood down until I can go to a specialist and also have a bone marrow test to figure out what is causing the thickning of the blood, which is also affecting my other organs, ie; liver, lungs, and I guess the ole computer as the blood is not flowing, so no more booze, smoking, fat foods which I do not eat anyways, but the boatsoda and marlboros will have to go out of the window, I latter is gonna be a bastard to give up, but it does not look like I have many options, and with no insurance to top it off, POOF goes the little savings, OH well I am still here and plan to be for a while.

At least you will not have to put up with the BIT@H !!!!   that I am gonna be for quite a while!!

In the mean time, stay well !!

Yep, eventually everyone comes to the point where there are decisions. It would always be easier if we did it on our own at a younger age.

Hope the condition is easily manageable and doesn't require the roto-rooter. VERY happy to see that you didn't waste any time in seeing the Doc. Best wishes and good luck with the quitting smoking. I recommend the nicotine gum!
