Greg...how did you do that?
I wanna do the same thng i have a couple second clip i wanna use.

With a combination of windows movie maker and gif movie gear. I imported a movie clip to movie maker and took a picture of every different frame from the clip and saved them individually (numbering them in order as I saved them). After that I imported all the individual pictures to the gif movie gear program to create the animated gif. Then i resized it to fit the limits for an avatar here. :lookaroun
E-mail me the clip and I can probably have it done in a short time if you want.

OH...My...Gawd!!!! Greg you have invented a whole new way to make a living! CHARGE for this service! Do you realize how many folks on this and every other boating site will want one of these avatars, now. Or for that matter, ANY kind of movie avatar. Whoa! Very cool!
PS Glad to see you on the board again this last week.

I saved that from when you first put it up here, it is one of my favorite winter pick me ups!
On another note being on dial up I hope not too many go with the motion avatar, it makes the page load real long I just timed it. Was nearly seven minutes, way longer than even the hugh photos some post. Us dial up boys are going to suffer. :(

Jeez - that's a long time. I don't have this problem but I suspect many do. This is probably not the solution you want, but you can edit your profile to not display avatars. Look for a check box for the option.

Hummm, but then I bet you'll never see this hint because you'll never return to this page again.

Red Dog I am back, may take your hint. Interestingly the page loaded a bit quicker this time, I have thought about broad band. Only have ADSL out here and the cable slows to a crawl in the evenings, once DSL come out by me I may give it a shot.

The images were saved to your disk as temporary internet files which makes loading a page on subsequent visits much faster. Delete your temp files and see how fast.

Greg,

That is kicker! Nice to see you posting again also.

So, you think if I send you a disk from AOTH, you could get it all into an Avitar? Just kidding!

I think Mark has the right idea. Sell this talent!
