OK college football fans. I've set-up a bowl pool using the ESPN website and creating a group there.

1. Go to: http://games.espn.go.com/bowlmania/frontpage
2. If you don't already have a Member Name & Password, register for a free account.
3. Sign in.
4. Create your team
5. Join our group. It's a private group named: Donzi Bowl Fans You'll need to enter a password to join the group. That password is: donzi

You will pick the winner of the bowl game plus enter a number as to how confident you are that the team you picked will win the game with a number 1 thru 28.

Prizes will be as follow:

1 = $50
2 = $25
3 = $15
4 = $10
5 = $5

First game is December 14th so get you picks submitted quickly. Have fun with it and if you wish, winnings can be donated to the Donzi Registry in your name to help Scott VanAlstine keep this great website running for us.

I registered, but holding off on my picks until later. After stinking the picks up so bad in past seasons I'm going to cheat this year - I'm going to get my teenage son to help

OK, we have 8 ready to follow the bowl games and cheer for their picks. Will anyone pick every game correct this year? Time will tell. What do you think, USC or Oklahoma? It all starts tomorrow night with the first game. If you haven't joined the pool, get with-it and get your team created.

Grab a refreshment of choice and enjoy the games!

Go Bucks!

Bowling Green 52 - Memphis 35

Darrel is continuing tradition from past Bowl Challenges. He is our only still undefeated player and has more points available to him than the top 3. I've probably been cursed now for not taking the Ohio team last night.

6 down, 22 to go.

Hawaii 59 - UAB 40

College is off until 12/27 and then there are mulitible games a day next week. All leading up to the FedEx Orange Bowl and this year's National Champion. There has been an awfull lot of talk by the announcers in the high scoring games so far this year about a play-off formula for the Natl. Champ. I like it. Just about every other sport does it. Win, you continue to play, lose, you go home. Only possible problem in that format I see would be injuries to players. Football is a tuff sport. Could a Natl. Champ. team actually play the number of games in a play-off format and be effective by the Championship game? I bet Auburn sure would like the opportunity this year.

Standings so far:

1. Boldt Thunderbolt 2-4 with 55 points and a possible 253 points available.
2. Fishboy 4-2 with 28 points and a possible 371 points available.
3. Apple eMacs 5-1 with 25 points and a possible 364 points available.

5. Brandi's DogBiscuits 3-3 with 13 points and a possible 364 points available.
6. DonziDog 4-2 with 10 points and a possible 385 points available.

USC 55 - Oklahoma 19

Wow, simply unreal! The California team didn't leave anything on the West coast. They brought their whole arsonal to Florida. Can you believe almost the whole team is returning next year? I know us Big 10 fans have always said USC doesn't play anyone during their season. I for one might have to re-think that. I don't think any college team in America would have beat USC last night. Including Auburn.

Could not agree more. I thought USC was over rated, Oklahoma would beat them, and Auburn should have been there instead of USC. I WAS WRONG! Last night was definitely their night, and I have not seen such a dominating performance in a national championship in a long time. Hard to beleive that was Oklahoma and not some team scheduled for homecoming that USC got all over. Makes the win more impressive.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone in the top 5 for donating your winnings to the Registry. I'll get the check in the mail to Scot V. tonight. It isn't much, but I'm sure Scot appreciates the help.

Since I didn't make the top 5, I'll add my own donation to the pot. You all probably already have access to "The Good Stuff" forum, but if not, I would guess this qualifies you for access. That is why I wanted your full names to pass on to the HM. I have met or communicated with everyone but Jody in the past bowl challenges.

BTW, Jody your Donzi is a Donzi and invited to AOTH 5 at Lake Cumberland in May. They have a fish called a striper (no, not Toona in the nude)(half bass, half something else) there. I've seen the catches on the docks from the local guides while we're there. Don't know if your interested, but I'd love to do some fishing one morning before breakfast to try and land one of those monsters. If not, I'll try to get down to a SEADOG gathering sometime next summer. Meeting the members of the Registry is one of the biggest assets of our gathering for me.

Superbowl, NASCAR, College B-Ball all coming up in the next few months. Nothing like sports in the off season.

Hey Scott,
Cumberland sounds fun, I will see what I can do. If not, I hope we can hook up at one of the Seadog events. I will definitly show you some fishing sopts down here if you decide to come, or we can get some of those stripers in cumberland (I usually have to go th the strip-club to get stripers down here, so it sounds interesting) ;). ANyway, look forward to meeting you too. I just matched the winnings and paypal'd to the HM; it is the least we can do for all he does for us.

See ya,

Poodle, Man I have to agree with you on that half time show. Sitting at home with a beer in hand, all I could think was what the F is this crap? First girl sang for about a minute with no sound but the guitar coming over the tv. Then they throw country in between pop and what I guess is new wave rock & roll?

Seats in the stands were empty with over 6 minutes to go in the 4th? Never saw that before at a Natl. Champ game.

Best part of the game for the home audience was all the shots of the USC cheerleaders. Amazing how many of those we were getting. Lookin very nice on the West Coast for sure! :biggrin:
