I should be picking this up on Friday and bringing it back to Pensacola. The final bid was $6,900. This will be my first Donzi and also my first real boat.

Looks like you guys have a good site set up here.

Jerry, thanks for the feedback.

Congratulations and welcome to the madness!!!

Only one small problem... didn't anyone tell you that Donzis don't run in Pensacola? Some sort of Bermuda Triangle kinda thing...

Thanks guys!

Tuna, Wouldn't that Bermuda triangle thing only apply to boats in the bermuda trinangle? I'll let you know how it works out... How's the boating in Allatoona?

It's a strange spinoff of the Bermuda thing... the boats don't exactly disappear, but as they enter the Pensacola city limits, they stop running. Ask Santa Claus for lots of tow rope, just in case.

Sadly, Allatoona is currently a dried up mud puddle... not suitable for ducks or tunafish.

I think Dan is Safe from the Tow Rope Demon, seems ever since Fishboy towed me in Mt. Dora, the Tow Rope Demon was transferred to him. All the Pensacola boats ran all summer.
Now we still must question Dan’s sanity, he has known Gene and I for the last 7 or 8 years and Stuart probably 6 to 7 of those years, and he still bought the boat. Didn’t even tell us about it until after he got it

Hey David!

I should be back on Saturday. Do I need to have it blessed or have an exorcism performed?

Not sure which but you for sure should stop in Allatoona, GA on your way back and have Celene lay a little of her magic on it for ya.
I understand Allatoona is on the way to anywhere.

Actually, the only prudent move is to leave the boat for an indefinite time with me... or bribe Fishboy's brother, Budman, to move to Pensacola.

When will you be jetting through my sleepy burb?

And ya'll are going to be quite the sight off Perdido, a trawler towing three yellow 18's...

Your boat doesn't run either, does it?

Proof positive.

Toona,
The game plan is take I-65 north so we'll miss you by a few miles.

You're getting me concerned with all the mojo. I may never boat out of the neighborhood canal system... :frown:

You do know the weather report calls for snow late this week? Be careful out there!

Oh, go for broke and let's see if David's theory of the transfer of the Tow Rope Demon really has worked. Then we'll all know not to let Fishboy tow us in...

The deal went through!

The trip went fine with very little problems. We hit Cincinnati rush hour traffic on the way up and Birmingham on the way back but made good speed the rest of the time. She pulled well with our 1996 pathfinder. Had some issues with the trailer lights but nothing that could not be rigged. The weather could not have been better for this time of year. Nice and clear the entire way.

The boat looks good for her age. We'll get a better opinion from the P'cola Donzi gang soon. :lookaroun
