.... I had to wait for traffic to clear today, before I could leave my laneway.
Rootsy, if you lived here, you wouldn't need to camp in the UPeh! for 10 days ... :D

Speaking of deer and deer camp... here are a few photos of CASA DE Root / Wilbourn... Location: Iron River, Michigan (think WESTERN UP)...

Temperatures were high's in the low to mid 30's with lows dropping to single digits... the new skirting around the popup made it much more enjoyable this year (yes it has a furnace). This is year #3 for this camper... each year gets better... we can have camp setup totally in about 2 hours...

I ended up harvesting a large doe Wednesday evening(she tips the scale at 180 dressed - 2 1/2 yrs old) and Kevin a smaller doe Thursday morning (120 lb - 1 1/2 yrs old), with his revolver.

Horns were pretty scarce and we refuse to take small bucks... Let em Go... Let em Grow... Not to mention first week hunters (our neighbors on their lovely ATV's driving all over creation stinkin up the woods - read that CHOADS)... had the deer pretty skittish and noctornal and bucks even worse than does, if they weren't driven out of the area altogether. it took the female gender until about wednesday to settle down and move during daylight... plus temps plunged and they were moving and eating... we had the woods to ourselves the entire week... we cover about 2 sq miles of a 60 sq mile tract of logging company land open to the public. We own 20 acres boardering on the south where we camp...

below are a few really non exciting camp photos and if you are squimish..don't look at the dead critters eh... last photo is the recovered bullet from my doe... the remnants of a 175 gr 7mm Nosler Partition flung from my handloads at 2700 fps...

J - is it Nov 2005 YET???

Why are there no leaves on the trees?
What is that white stuff on the ground?
Why does it look so grey outside?
 :bawling: :hyper: :biggrin.:

Steve, I shoot pictures out of my front door. :)
Actually it has been very pleasant lately, mid 70's, sunshine, but I appreciate the sentiment.
Come on down when it gets REALLY cold, we'll go boating.

Matty, we're in the middle of training four new sales people.
What an exhausting undertaking! :(
I was going to work on it all thanksgiving weekend but that turned into two days because we had to attend a funeral in Tampa.
But it is really getting close to putting the deck back on.
After re-attaching the deck, it's time to wire in the new instrument panel.
