Thanks Walt! I am trying to find the info on the "Tempest 300", I been told it is 4 bolt block, has a forged crank, special rods & pistons, better heads, cam etc. It should be coming out fairly soon to make room for the 383, I took my last run in it yesterday then put it to bed fogged and oil filters etc. Runs so sweet its a shame to pull it, but its time to put all this new stuff in.

if you can get the casting number from the block (behind cylinder head near distributor) and from the cylinder heads (remove valve cover) you can find out what they are pretty much by looking up the casting numbers at www.mortec.com

Jamie I want to get the info on the engines inards, Murph had mailed them to me back last year but that drive crashed. I will mail him to see if he can fill me in, I have someone interested in it and am trying to come up with a fair price based on inards.

Block: (4 Bolt Main Bearing Caps on #2,3,4)
Rods: Forged Steel
Pistons: Forged Aluminum
Crankshaft: Forged Steel
