TRS tranny swap

Is a swap from the Merc elec shift to a Velvet drive 72-C a no brainer? Does the engine mounts same in the same place??? ...Ed

Ed, if your running under 500 HP, Zed Eff makes a 1/1 ratio box that will fit, I think. I did a post on this some time back, try a search on TRS, or under my name. I think it's 11" long, considerably shorter than a Velvet Drive, I think.

I put a rebuilt Merc in my X and have the spare that is supposed to go back on swap to get my $400 deposit back. I don't believe that there was actually anything wrong with my original trans other than the shifter cable. If you want to try mine out before it goes back you are welcome to it. For $400 plus shippng it would be a no brainer replacement rather than going to the Velvet drive.

The swap question was for my buddy with a 30' Scarab.
He is running twin supercharged 350's
A mutual friend is selling his Borgs for $1,100 each
so we were wondering about the amount of work required
