My K&N filter/flame arrester instructions say to "oil" the element before using.
What does this mean?
What weight oil?
How much?
How best to apply it? :confused:
Thanks;

K&N makes a filter rejuvenation kit... it coimes with a cleaner and OIL.. it is a lightweight red oil... almost the consistancy of ATF... a NEW filter should come with a bottle...

Jamie, I'll look again, but I may have been shorted the bottle of oil.
Thanks

The K&N Filter is prelubed from the factory,you only need to re-oil after cleaning.Any quality auto parts store should have the reoiling kit.

Don't rinse a KN filter on a diesel pickup with gas, the engine will go BOOM!
