I am going to call on a 1970 18 Donzi with the above referenced power set up.
Was this a reliable set up and are parts easy to obtain?
Also are there mechanics with experience available to work on same?
Other than outboards I have only had merc 350/Alpha set up.

yes it is a strong reliable setup, not a wide variety of props but can still find parts , trim would be nice , but still a nice setup
Very strong, very sweet to run, seemingly bulletproof...
My 1970 is almost identical to that one, except with a 250 outdrive. As Matty said, parts availability is good. Simple engine, easy to work on. Gets very good mileage, about 3.5mpg average, (if that matters).
What color? Do you have the hull number?

no the 250 260 and 270 no trim just tilt,
the 270t 280t and 290 have trim
not an all to hard upgrade from what I hear
very happy with mine although I did grenade a drive don't understand why it happened after 33years of faithful service ;)
Just an opinion: I don't miss trim on my Donzi at all. Just another part to break... :hyper:

Several calls to owner and have not had a return call.Probably not to anxious to sell.
Could this be a registry owners boat it is in NH with a MA owner?
