OutDrive Water pick up (Volvo 270)

Have a volvo 270 drive...installed the Perko in-line flush valve so I can run /flush the boat out of the water. My question is when I run the boat out of the water is the p/u in the drive spinning. If so, will I run the risk of burning up the water p/u in the drive.

Kirk,
no there are no moving parts that circulate water in a 270 they are gravity feed, the weight of the ass end pushes water up the drive thru the transom plate then to a water pump on the motor

You will be fine, thats a nice item works well. there is nothing in the drive to hurt running on the flusher, but run in neutral. Running for extended periods in gear will cause the outer prop shaft seal will go bad prematurely.
