Well I finally put enough break in hours on the new motor so I could get an idea where she's at. I made a few balls to the wall runs last weekend seeing speeds of 70-73 mph(GPS) turning a 23" quad IV Hydromotive @ 52000. But for now any further tweaking will have to wait untill spring as she is all tucked away for winter.................so sad.

Now for the dumb question. A friend gave me a box of misc marine parts and just plain junk. In there I found an old unopend can of Merc gas stabil. My question is can this stuff go bad.

Sam,

--------That new pill must be really well built to withstand 52000 rpm. What did it sound like at that rpm? LOL...............Bill S

Poodle, your joking...............right. According to the numbers I entered at www.boatramp.com I come up with 7.3% slip. That was using 70 mph @ 5200 and the 23" prop. For every MPH you go up using the same numbers the slip goes down. From what I've heard any slip numbers from 10% on down is good.

Not quite sure on the torque question Poodle. I need to run a desk top dyno profile to get me in the neighborhood. If I was to make a guess based on the seat of my pants I would say between 4,000 and 5000. I need to call Hydromotive and or Julie at Throttle Up to see if they can give me any direction.
