Fellas,
Does the Cobra have an internal water pump?

The reason I ask, is we dropped my dads boat in the drink yesterday, fired it off, but no water pumped through the engine. She heated up fairly fast. So I pulled the hose off of the intake manifold and filled it with H2O, thus filling the block and circulating pump, then we fired it back up and she stayed cool for the remainder of the day. Does this sound right? I was under the assumption that the Cobras use a pump in the drive to feed the circ. pump on the engine...

Mr. Bond I think by a past post your Dad has a standard Cobra not a King. If you remove the back plastic cover on the back of the drive the pump is right at the top and very easy to change.

Thanks fellas!

It's a Cobra of the late 80's circa.

So I guess that means I don't have to drop the lower unit to change it. :hyper:

I'll take a look under the plastic cover.
