What type of oil would you recommend for a 270 drive?

What type of oil would you recommend for a 270 drive?

For many years they recomended engine oil which did the job very well, I would use Merc Hi Perf it is a good choice. The drives are so well made I think they could run most any quality oil with no harm

I've been using the synthetic lower unit oil in my 270........not sure if its the same as the Merc Hi perf oil. It is blue in color.

Good quality straight 30 weigh motor oil.
